“The easy answer is that I can’t eat with my retainer in. Plus, I just never remember it. It’s always a conversation starter because it makes me unique. I first got it because I didn’t like not having a tooth there. The baby tooth there was fused to the bone so I had surgery when I was seven to remove it. An adult tooth just never grew in. Now I’m fine with it, I’ve come to terms with it. It keeps me youthful, and you can always pick my smile out of a lineup”
