This was a picture taken by my brother in 2022 after President Yoon was elected. The flowers were sent as a celebration of his presidential victory. What makes this photo so paradoxical is that the President’s name was mounted in the very same memorial union dedicated to the hundreds of Gwangju citizens who fought for democracy in 1980.
