Dear Hickman Journalism, 

I have not had as much time to get to know this program as many of my peers. I was late to this class because I did not think it would be something that I would be interested in. Having finally had the opportunity to take it this year, I can say with full certainty that I was wrong. I have enjoyed every second of this class – from the lessons, interviews, writing, and struggling with the cameras, to recruiting new students, presentations, pitch meetings, and even setting up for the end of the year showcase. This class has meant so much to me over the course of the year, and it will continue to do so for the rest of my life, as I continue to pursue an education and a career in journalism. I am sad to leave the journalism program, and I know that without it, I would not be where I am now, and I am excited to see how I can use what I have learned this year in my future endeavors. I will miss Hickman Journalism, but I feel more prepared for what comes next because of it.
